Almost everyone I know breathed a sigh of relief when 2020 was finally over. While the fact that it was 2021 didn’t magically change anything overnight (well, aside from the calendar), a lot of people felt that it was a much-needed new beginning and that better times were ahead.

I’m grateful that my kids have grown up in a time and place when being openly LBGTQ+ is more widely acceptable than it was when I was growing up. When I was in high school, “gay” was a common insult and being out was scary, dangerous, and almost completely unheard-of.
After a flurry of spring cleaning, I was starting to think that I would take a break – but it turns out that there’s no bad time for a fresh beginning. With summer upon us and a few milestones coming up, it feels good to wipe the slate clean and take on some new projects.
Life is better with happy chakras! Knowing this is why Patty and Jacki created the Chakra Magic line of candles, sprays, stickers, and now jewelry. Too often we repeat “OMG, something is wrong.” When you hear yourself saying that over again, it’s time for a chakra shift from miserable to happy.

During this New Moon, we desire to expand our sphere of influence and open to new experiences. Choose well, my friends. The thoughts and activities you indulge in today direct the course of your future. Look before you leap and assess who and what you let into your mind and life.
This month, the sea-goat takes over as we enter Capricorn season. After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, settling into a routine and hard work can be a downer or a welcome relief, depending on your take on life. January is the beginning of a new year and perhaps a new you if you are willing to do the work.
The year 2020 was packed full of collective events that will become permanent backdrops to our tapestry of history. We opened the year with potent Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn and ushered in a new deadly virus that began infecting the citizens of Wuhan.
Are you afraid of the dark? If so, turn on your nightlight because once again we are in Scorpio season, which governs everything that goes bump in the night and our focus is going to be on sex, death, and regeneration.
Now for the specifics.
The Season of Libra is the season of relationships and the scales govern all relationships, even relationships with our enemies. The undercurrent of Libra brings to mind a Greek tale called ‘The Judgment of Paris’. A young shepherd boy named Paris was randomly chosen by Zeus to judge who was the most beautiful Olympian Goddess.
The New Moon in Libra on October 16th is the perfect time to do a little moon magic around love. Let’s revisit a powerful spell from our Witches Union library to help you increase your commitment to having love in your life. Use this spell written by Jacki Smith to help you along.
The 2020 roller coaster comes back with its third act (there are four if you are counting), and the month of September not only features Virgo Season but one of the most difficult energies of the year. So, if you thought that 2020 has been a rocky ride, there is more to come.
It’s Leo Season now and although the first part of the month will continue the difficult trend of the last two months, relief is on the way! We don’t want you to miss the real opportunity of Leo just because it’s been one of the most misunderstood signs of the zodiac.
If ever the moon was aligned for deep introspection it is this Pisces Full Moon. Not only is the Pisces moon calling us to induce a trance-like state of mind, but she also wants us to escape harsh realities and take a break. Unfortunately, this makes our emotions vulnerable to manipulation and gaslighting.
Every month the new moon sets the stage for a new beginning. Not the “ta-da” part of new beginnings, but the part where we find ourselves underground in the dark, and following our instincts to the light. Even though there’s no evidence yet that we will be successful we are driven to continue.
Oscar Wilde, poet and playwright, was quoted as saying, “Be yourself, everyone else is taken”. That really speaks volumes of this Aquarian full moon. On August 3rd it flows abundant charges of originality, imaginative and spontaneous creativity into our minds and hearts and blesses our delightfully unique souls with just the right amount of courage to bust out a rousing chorus of “I gotta be me”.
The New Moon graciously provides us with a long-needed respite from working the plan. Ordinarily, we would provide a candle ritual to get some magic going, but this time we are going to respect the energy and let it be. Why? Simply put, this New Moon opposes Saturn in Capricorn.
Ordinarily, Cancer season is the time of the year where our focus is on emotional security, and can be the balm we need, especially pertinent during the COVID-19 pandemic. As we begin to understand what our ‘new normal’ is for the short-term future, our need to feel connected to others on the emotional level is going to be important.
Work the plan...
Work the plan and trust the process. We will be riding the rollercoaster ride of retrogrades, eclipses, and cultural disruption all summer long. It will be easy to get distracted by the changing crisis of the day, but if you stay focused on your plan and the actions it involves you will create needed stability.
