Astro Magic February 2022 

February is a cosmically strange month because there is little going on. Mercury goes direct early in the month. In addition, there is a lovely conjunction between Venus and Mars in Capricorn, and an opportunity to break free from the stagnant energy of the past two years, with Jupiter in Pisces forming a beneficial sextile to Uranus in Taurus.

Otherwise, February is relatively calm, except for a few cosmic blips here and there.

Pisces Season 

In the Matrix Revolutions, the Oracle says the following: "Everything that has a beginning, has an end!" This month that end is here as we move out of Aquarius and dive into the deep waters of Pisces.

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. It reflects the process of going inward after eleven months of experiencing the outer world and preparing to begin that process again once the Sun moves into fiery Aries in March. Since we are magical practitioners, we are familiar with the cycles of the Moon. As the Moon fades away during the waning crescent Moon, it is best to do magic that involves letting things go, doing release work, healing, and bringing things to a conclusion. Similarly, we are given a larger window to work on these issues during Pisces season. Now, this type of work shouldn't be done haphazardly. Instead, it should be done with careful thought and consideration.

5 Ways to Get the Most Out of Pisces Season 

1. Water Magic: Have you ever drank tea for a particular effect? Whether you drank the tea to calm down, sleep, feel better, or for an energy boost, you were doing passive water magic. Let's face it; water is the source of life. We need it to survive biologically. So, of course, during Pisces season, you should increase your water intake for its healing properties. You can also create potions, brews, and enchant skincare products.

2. Healing: Pisces is one of the signs (the other is Virgo) associated with doctors, nurses, and the health profession, so naturally, we should use Pisces season to improve our health. You can do this through diet and exercise, detoxing, meditation, spiritual connection, acupuncture/acupressure, alternative or holistic medicine, or a trip to your doctor for a checkup. If you already have a health condition, this is an auspicious time to improve your overall well-being.

3. Dreams: During Pisces season, our dreams are often enhanced and prolific. If you have never done dreamwork before, this is a great time to go out and buy a journal and begin. The easiest way to start is by jotting down anything you remember right after you get up in the morning. Dreams come in cycles, and they often reveal potential issues working their way from the unconscious to our conscious minds. We can then begin to work on these issues proactively. Dreams can also be precognitive, so pay close attention to what they tell you. There are several dream resources on the internet, and you can always pick up the book "Inner Works" by Robert Johnson.

4. Ancestral Magic: The sign of Pisces is connected to the collective unconscious, a deep reservoir of the dreams, aspirations, and intentions of prior generations. We can tap into our ancestor's energy to create change in our lives and put them to work to help carve out the future we desire. We can also use this energy to heal problems with deceased relatives and eliminate the control and power they hold over us.

5. Divination: Anytime one of the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces) comes up as a season, we have increased powers of divination. Whether you are performing the reading or getting one, there is an increased sensitivity to otherworldly realms that may assist you in getting answers to your (or your clients') most profound questions. Also, it's a great time to power up or enchant your divination tools.

Cosmic Overview

As I stated in the opener, February has very little going on, but there are a few things to note: 

First, Mercury ends his retrograde cycle at the beginning of the month (February 3rd), and turns direct in Capricorn. You will notice that communication issues will slowly improve, and you can act on anything you put on hold during the retrograde, including making plans and signing documents. You will also get a chance to resolve or repair problems that have occurred during the retrograde. But, keep in mind, Mercury will remain in his shadow cycle until February 24th. 

Next, Venus and Mars form a lovely conjunction a few days after Valentine’s Day in Capricorn. Venus conjunct Mars will heat up your love life, so if your relationship has lacked that special spark, expect it to return in spades while this aspect is active. For those who are single, the conjunction of Venus and Mars in Capricorn is excellent to seek out relationships that are structured, stable, and have long-term potential.

Finally, on February 17th, Jupiter forms a sextile to Uranus in Taurus. If you’ve been waiting for an auspicious time to make positive changes in your life, look no further. Jupiter sextile Uranus will get the job done. While Jupiter sextile Uranus is active, it’s a beneficial time to change jobs, make financial investments, and take risks. Since Jupiter is highly dignified in his sign of Pisces, anything you put your mind and energy into should be successful.

New Moon in Aquarius 

On February 1st, we reach the heart of Aquarius season with the New Moon. This is an extremely social New Moon that’s excellent for building your network and circle of friends. It’s also perfect for joining groups or organizations with people with like-minded ideas and beliefs. The sign of Aquarius is about progress, and it is always wise to surround yourself with people that support your personal vision and leave the haters behind.

Full Moon in Leo 

The Full Moon occurs on February 16th in fiery Leo. The sign of Leo is concerned with our inner purpose (destiny) and personal identity. Since the Full Moon cycle is about letting go of what no longer serves you, this Full Moon is excellent for banishing self-defeating behaviors and everything in your life that doesn’t bring you joy. Also, if you need reputation repair, this is the perfect time to leave your past mistakes behind and embrace the real you – warts and all.

Weekly Breakdown 

January 31, 2022 – February 6, 2022 

We start the week off with the Moon in social Aquarius. You may feel the need to surround yourself with your tribe, but be cautious, the Moon squares disruptive Uranus, and you may have trouble with people whose behaviors are erratic and upsetting. On Tuesday, we have the New Moon (see above) that occurs during the early morning hours, so make sure you set your intentions. Later on Tuesday, the Moon conjoins Saturn, which could lead to a moment of self-doubt and insecurity. Push away negative thoughts. 

During the middle of the week, Mercury turns direct in Capricorn. Communication issues should slowly improve, and you can make decisions, sign documents, and make travel plans again. 

This weekend, we have a few contradictory aspects – Mars sextile Jupiter and the Sun conjunct Saturn. Mars-Jupiter wants to get up and go, while Sun conjunct Saturn wants to slow things down. So, for some, this could be a frustrating weekend. The key to working with both aspects together is to proceed with whatever you want to do, but ensure you have all the facts and details in order.

February 7, 2022 – February 13, 2022 

This is a pretty slow week, astrologically speaking. We begin the week with the Moon moving through slow and steady Taurus. It’s a great day to focus on the simple pleasures of life and enjoy the fruits of your labors. You may even want to schedule a massage or go out to dinner and enjoy the art of living life.

On Tuesday, Mars forms an exciting trine to Uranus in Taurus. As people, we don’t like change, and it is easy to get stuck in a rut and bored of our routines, regardless of how comfortable they make us feel. Mars trine Uranus encourages us to shake things up to feel invigorated and engaged with life. Mars-Uranus gives us courage, and if you need to take a risk, now is the time. 

During the middle of the week, the Moon moves into curious Gemini. It’s a great time to engage in conversations, collaborate, and share your thoughts and ideas. Also, it’s an excellent time to study something new or explore your intellectual curiosities. 

This weekend, Mercury conjoins Pluto in Capricorn. Mercury conjunct Pluto is excellent for solving problems because it gets to the root of the matter, and you can make changes when necessary. However, there is a problematic side to this aspect, as it can cause conflicts and power struggles. Try to research facts before you jump to conclusions, and avoid gossiping, because it may lead to blowback.

February 14, 2022 – February 20, 2022 

After a couple of slow weeks, the cosmos picks up in the third week of February, with two aspects, a Full Moon in Leo, and two sign changes. 

The beginning of the week starts with Mercury moving out of Capricorn and back into Aquarius, the sign he went retrograde in last month. Mercury in Aquarius is very social, and you will need to spend time with your friends, groups, and engage with like-minded people. Mercury in Aquarius also likes to discover patterns, so it’s an excellent time to look at situations that are occurring in your life and see if you can find a common theme. Of course, once you discover a pattern, you can make changes. 

All the action occurs midweek when Venus conjoins Mars, Jupiter sextiles Uranus (see above), and the Full Moon (also see above) lands in Leo. You can expect relationships to heat up as Venus conjoins sexy Mars, and if you are single, it’s a great time to search for a stable, structured relationship with long-term potential. Since the Full Moon occurs on Wednesday, make sure to get your intentions ready, so you can take advantage of its energy. 

This weekend, the Sun moves out of Aquarius and into gentle Pisces. You may notice that you are slowing down and contemplating the future because the astrological New Year begins again next month.

February 21, 2022 – February 27, 2022 

The last week of February slows down again, with all the action taking place midweek. But, we begin the week with the Moon moving through transformative Scorpio. The Moon in Scorpio is emotionally intense and can bring up issues you would rather leave in the dead of night, and this could easily be amplified by The Moon squaring Mercury on Monday. On Tuesday, the Moon squares Saturn, and you may go through periods of self-doubt, and other people may trigger your insecurities. 

During the middle of the week, both Mars and Venus sextile Neptune in Pisces. These are low-energy transits, and you may find that you are disinterested in the real world and would rather escape your responsibilities. Some self-care, meditation, journaling, and spiritual work may be needed. 

On Thursday, Mercury makes a discordant aspect to Uranus. Other people may easily annoy you, and your patience button may be broken. Try to avoid overthinking, because your mind will be in overdrive and not really concerned with facts. You may say things impulsively that you will later regret. 

Finally, this weekend, the Moon moves into Capricorn. This weekend is excellent for taking care of your responsibilities and clearing your to-do list, especially if you let things pile up midweek. Be careful on Sunday, because the Moon conjoins Pluto, and difficult emotions may surface.
