Be patient and try not to fiddle with natural processes.

This month we plant ourselves firmly in the earth with Taurus. Taurus is mostly known for its ruler ship over money, however, there is a deeper side of Taurus that is lost in our quest for material resources and objects.

In the 21st century, one of our most significant symbols of money is the checkbook, and is a powerful book of revelation. Within a checkbook, we have a list of things that we have spent money on including who we give to, and perhaps more revelatory is who we do not. Essentially, this long list of bills, obligations, purchased pleasures, and contributions reveals who we are as an individual and our deepest values. So, in addition to money, the sign of Taurus is about getting in touch with our values.

The symbolism of the season is also impressing upon us that it’s time to grow. Whether that’s our physical bodies, projects, finances, or our health it takes time and patience, but if we sit back and let things grow and try not to fiddle with natural processes, our lives will grow beyond our expectations. The Sun makes only positive aspects throughout the month of May and this give us the power and motivation to make things happen. May is a great month for fertility-based spells (even pregnancy), financial spells, and general well-being spells.

May starts out like a battle

The beginning of the month will be difficult while Mercury moves through impulsive Aries and slams into frustrating Saturn and complicating Pluto. This could lead to feelings of insecurity and self-doubt as our ambitions (Aries) become thwarted by outside obstacles. Pressing in and pressing on is the best course of action during this cycle and we recommend Van Van or Needed Changes Blessed Herbal candles throughout the first week of May. Venus also moves through Aries (the sign of her detriment) during the first part of the month. This is a difficult position for Venus, and she tends to be the “battle goddess” rather than the goddess of love. Relationships can be difficult, argumentative, and precarious because we become self-focused and concerned with our needs and desires and often ignore our partners. On the financial front, avoid making radical purchases during the beginning of May. Venus in Aries can be impulsive and leans towards making purchases that are not necessary or are based on momentary whims rather than necessities. Although action will be fast, furious, and possibly disorganized as Mars moves through Gemini, we still can complete much of our to-do list. Around May 5th, we need to try to curb our impulses because Mars will square Jupiter, which can lead to impulsive or out of control behavior. Lighting a Stability Blessed Herbal candle during the first part of the month will keep us grounded and less reactionary.

 

Mid month we will enjoy time to think

The fast-paced energy of the last few weeks will slow down, which for some will be a welcomed relief. Use this window to make sure that the direction our lives are headed in is practical and sustainable. Venus moves into Taurus mid-month and relationship issues will improve dramatically. This is a great time to do relationship growth and new relationships spells. Financial matters will improve too and is a great time to do prosperity related magic or attract financial resources. On May 15th, Mars will move into Cancer, this could trigger hyper-emotional behavior based on whims and insecurities. Pull emotional support from those around to stabilize impulses. Towards the end of the month things could look muddied.

Mercury will form a difficult square to Neptune. Neptune tends to confuse, befuddle, and deceive when it is in a difficult aspect to the trickster god. It’s recommended to keep a Truth and Justice Blessed Herbal candle going or spray your space with Clarity Chakra Magic spray while this is aspect is active. It will help us see the truth, whether that be about people or situations. On May 22nd, Mars forms a lovely sextile to Uranus, which is a great time for networking and socializing. A very nice way to wrap up the month.
