Expectations, friend or foe?

Retail blog 2 Expectations friend or foe When it comes to our expectations, they seem to live on both sides of the same coin. Heads is expectations that keep us motivated and striving for our goals. They are the mantras of successful people who would not waste one day without affirming their expectations.

As if their expectations were the power behind the forward and upward movement they enjoy. Vision boards and The Secret want us to engage in expecting wishes to be fulfilled. Without that emotional push, our plan, visions and goals would not leap off the page and into our life. Anticipation and expectation are used as fuel instead of folly.

“Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he can and should be and
he will become as he can and should be.”
Stephen R. Covey

On the tails side of the coin, lives the way we respond to our disappointment when our expectations are not realized according to our plans no matter how air tight they are. They become the reason for living small and playing safe by defaulting to going with the flow and letting the universe do all the deciding for us. Expectations become the bad guy and a convenient way to blame the universe and say, well, it was not meant to be.

“I find my life is a lot easier the lower I keep my expectations.”
Bill Watterson

“I feel like I’m waiting for something that isn’t going to happen.”

“Never expect, never assume, never ask and never demand. Just let it be, because if it’s meant to be, it will happen just the way you want things to be.”

101 quotes About.com

There is power in expectancy and a potentially untapped power. The reason for that could just be us; our own belief about our ability to ask and then receive. Many times we don’t even know we are in our own way. Our reality starts in our thoughts, but if we don’t know what thoughts are back logged in our subconscious, we will find out the hard way. Eventually it dawns on us that all new thoughts and imaginings are cueing up behind what was on our mind in the past. This is why we all have to clean out the subconscious now and again. We have to take out the trash, heal our wounds and let go of ancestral destructive thought forms to make space for the seeds of a new reality to be planted.

They don’t teach that in traditional public school. This is a lesson we’ve had to figure out on our own. Now that many have gone before us to blaze this creations trial, we can start playing with the idea of cleaning out our thought cache.

Clearing the decks for great success

Candle ritual for cleaning up our subconscious act.

We’ll be using the Scales of Justice and uncrossing Hoo Doo candles. Our first order of business is to release ancestral kaka. These are the beliefs your greatgrand’s generations back held around money, luck, love, giving and receiving. If our ancestors have an ingrained bad attitude about their life and the way things went down, you could be carrying that in your subconscious without even knowing it. Even if you knew great grandpa was deathly afraid of being poor and would do anything to keep his pockets full, you may not realize his thought forms are stuck in your mental body as if you yourself came up with these ideas. They need to be cleared out before your finely crafted spells or vision board can engage and start working for you. For this we can use the Scales of Justice Hoo Doo candle. After removing all packaging, carve the known Surnames of ancestors related to you into the candle. Place the candle in your candle holder and ask for all destructive legacies around money, love, luck and happiness to be released from your family tree for all who wish to be healed. Then ask Archangel Michael to remove your name from the part of the family tree that harbors these destructive and negative beliefs around money, prosperity, work, luck, love and success. You can even say, I rescind all the beliefs and behaviors from my ancestors and I desire to be free to create my own happiness, prosperity and success on my own terms. Then thank your ancestors for the lessons and let them all go back into the family tree. You may even see yourself climbing down that family tree to make one of your own. It’s a very powerful visual.

Now you are ready for the Uncrossing Hoo Doo candle. Carve your own name in this candle. Light it and affirm that you have learned from your family’s past and you are now ready to heal and let go of your own destructive negative thinking and feelings around your own ability to create, give, receive, prosperity, work and any other way being successful looks in your mind and heart. Imagine all your conscious and subconscious thoughts, beliefs based on experiences, feelings based on your reactions to those experiences being pulled from you and burned up in the flame of the candle. Take your time with this and if needed, do this in a few sessions. This will be very similar to a review of your life. If needed, forgive anyone who has cheated you or diminished your self-worth by their actions or words.

When you feel complete, go back to your spell crafting or vision board and see if there are any adjustments you need to make and carry on with the manifesting. Best wishes for a wonderful life and let your expectations be your friend!
