Mr. Robinson, Gifting Candles is NOT Weird.....

Mr. Robinson weird The title is a bit of an inside joke between myself and a friend. I want to share it with you. I am not sure how the topic got started between us both. I believe it may have been a conversation borne from passions for the products we offer here at Arcadia Marketplace.

He was looking for some ideas for gifts for his friends and family for the holidays. I suggested candles. He replied “ I don`t know? Candles seem a little weird to give as a gift.” I couldn't believe anyone could ever think such a thing. Now, you have to understand my friend believes himself to be a self described “not in the feels” kinda guy. This is true for the most part. He is a very analytical type with a keen sense of dry humor. A highly skilled funny man! It was up to me to show him all the reasons why candles are nothing short of a perfect and thoughtful gift.

Scented candles smell good and have aromatherapy effects. With a little basic 101 on essential oils and their effects your gift is indeed very thoughtful. Giving a candle has many mood boosting benefits. Candles make a lovely ambience for bubble baths, dinner, and set a night tone in your home no matter the activity. I always have a candle at my desk. The candle helps me to be both focused and relaxed. I even have one I occasionally burn in the mornings. I am fancy like that. Coffee and candles speaks of all the comforts of home.

Candles are perfect go to mobile gifts. Stock up and you're ready for any special occasion. There is no assembly, no directions and no batteries required.

Apparently, Mr. Robinson had never heard of the term man candle or “mandle.” Ugh, yup!! It is a real word and an actual thing. It is a candle that a man owns. Hence, the term “mandle.” Yes, it is for men who are in touch with their olfactory nerves so well, in fact, that room fragrance is a priority for them. Even men can appreciate a candle as a gift.

Mr. Robinson ended up gifting a few candles and oils to some family. A few container candles were the perfect touch for him. I have heard he received a lot of positive responses from his loved ones too. Not one single person called his gift of candles “weird.”
